Petra The Empress has been involved in the entertainment industry for the past five years and has since then has built up a strong, solid fan base, constant hype and great reputation working with accomplished artists, bands and producers. As well as having an angelic voice that can seduce the masses, her bubbly and fun personality landed Petra the opportunity of hosting her own Radio show on CHRY 105.5 FM, called Represent that airs Every Wednesday morning from 7am-9am, where she plays UK RnB, Garage and Grime music. She also showcases the talents of international artists and has in the past interviewed Humble, Deborah Cox, Rebel Sound, Tanika Charles and many more.
In 2007, Petra signed with Qryptonik Records and has since debuted on the hit single ‘Butterfly’ with Janny Popps that has received airplay on many commercial, internet and college radio stations accross Canada , the U.S and overseas. The orginal and remix of this Butterfly single(in which Petra was featured) reached #1 for five consecutive weeks on New York’s WBLK 93.7 fm on two separate occasions. Also her recent project with reggae star Mr. Flowas on the song ‘Say That You Love Me’ has hurdled The Empress into the international market as the song has been gaining significant exposure in many countries such as the UK and Germany.
Currently, Petra has just released another smash single “Lead Me”, a follow up from her previous single “Only You”. With a style unlike any other, Petra has infused an eclectic sound of RnB, reggae, hip hop and soul with her signature vocals that has allowed her to stand out, but also bring something unique to the mainstream. Her elegant, polished and innovative style allows her to be noticed as a creative trendsetter. Her songs are smooth, warm, and speak of love, passion, pain, feminism, sexuality, upliftment and struggle.
